HR leadership needs current employee records and position data from PeopleSoft to flow into the platform every night.

    Register the OAuth client in PeopleSoft PIA

    Eastbrook's PeopleSoft security administrator navigates in PIA to PeopleTools > Security > OAuth 2.0 Provider > OAuth Client Setup. They create a new client record for Askel, note the client ID and client secret, and assign the client to the security permission lists covering Employee Data and Position Data service operations.

    Enter credentials in Askel

    Eastbrook's IT admin enters the PeopleSoft host URL, client ID, and client secret into the Askel setup screen inside your analytics platform. Askel exchanges the credentials for an OAuth access token via the Integration Broker OAuth endpoint and confirms connectivity by fetching the department list.

    Schema discovery

    Askel reads the PeopleSoft Integration Broker service operations the OAuth client can access and identifies the Employee, Job, Department, and Position message objects. Any custom records Eastbrook has added to standard PeopleSoft components appear in the mapping draft.

    Map and validate

    Eastbrook tracks a custom funding-source attribute on Job records for grant-funded positions. A CS rep maps this field to the analytics platform's funding dimension and runs a dry-run against the full employee population to confirm position costs categorize correctly.

    Go live

    The nightly sync is enabled. Askel fetches all active employees and positions from Eastbrook's PeopleSoft HCM and loads them into the analytics platform. New hires, transfers, and terminations processed in PeopleSoft reflect in the platform the following morning.

The customer's PeopleSoft security administrator registers Askel as an OAuth 2.0 client in PIA under PeopleTools > Security > OAuth 2.0 Provider > OAuth Client Setup, assigns the client the required service operation permission lists, and provides the client ID and client secret. Askel requests access tokens via the Integration Broker OAuth endpoint and refreshes them automatically.

Which PeopleSoft modules and versions are supported?+
Askel supports PeopleSoft HCM and Financials running PeopleTools 8.57 or later, which introduced the OAuth 2.0 support in Integration Broker. Campus Solutions is also supported for university customers on PeopleTools 8.57+. Older PeopleSoft deployments on PeopleTools 8.54 or earlier use a different integration broker auth model and are not covered by this managed integration.
Does the integration work with PeopleSoft on OCI as well as on-premises deployments?+
Both are supported. PeopleSoft on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI Marketplace images) exposes the same Integration Broker OAuth endpoints as on-premises deployments. The PeopleSoft host URL and OAuth setup steps are identical in both cases.
What service operation permissions does the OAuth client need?+
The permissions depend on which data your product reads. For HCM data, the client needs access to Employee, Job, and Department service operations. For Financials, it needs GL ChartField and Journal Entry service operations. Askel generates a permission checklist during setup that the customer's PeopleSoft security administrator can use to configure the client's permission lists.
What happens when a customer applies a PeopleSoft PeopleTools or application update?+
PeopleSoft updates occasionally change service operation names or message structures. Askel monitors for API errors after updates and surfaces them as schema drift alerts. For breaking changes in major PeopleTools releases, Askel's integration team updates the connector and notifies you before the affected customer's update window.
